About Malas

Malas in our shop:

Each Mala has, if not stated otherwise, its own photo, is already manufactured by us and therefore immediately available. You get exactly the product which is shown on the photo.
Imported Malas from Nepal, India or Tibet are several times in stock and not processed by us. Slight colour deviations are possible. Furthermore the beads are never round!

We manufacture Malas individually according to personal wishes. Ask us.

The length specification refers to the simple length, not to the circumference!
Circumference means length times 2!!!

The indicated bead diameter refers to the cross section. Some beads, mostly the wooden beads of the Malas from Nepal are not spherical, so the diameter in the direction of the hole is usually somewhat smaller. That is why we always indicate the simple length.

Malas must be protected from moisture! Otherwise the lines will expand even faster!
Pearls must not be brought into contact with perfume! Also avoid oils, fats and creams!

ATTENTION: Lotus seeds must not be brought into contact with moisture. The pearls decompose! Light-coloured lotus seed pearls become dark in the course of time! They do not stay white!
People who sweat a lot should not wear lotus seeds on their bodies or avoid skin contact.
Lotus seeds become porous due to moisture (also sweat) and dissolve!

Malas on firm string are not suitable for the wrist. The string will tear and very quickly. These Malas are our Pocketmalas and only meant for practice, not for daily wear. For this we have Malas with elastic band!

Care instructions and other information:

  • Malas should always be protected from moisture.
  • Semi-precious stones must not come into contact with perfume.
  • Lotus seed malas do not tolerate moisture at all - the beads become porous and start to dissolve - break apart.
  • Malas from lotus seeds darken with time.
  • It may well be that a purchased lotus seed mala arrives much darker than the photo shows.Halbedelsteine dürfen nicht mit Parfum in Kontakt kommen.

Lotus-hell-dunkel-2

  • Even sandalwood malas darken after.
  • Dyed beads can stain.
  • 108 Malas are not suitable to wear on the wrist. The cords widen faster and the danger of tearing increases, as well as hand malas without elastic band.
  • For bowing we recommend wooden malas, these are much more robust than malas made of semi-precious stone.
  • Do not wear malas with a tight string on your wrist! For this there are Malas with elastic band.

Mala tuning and repair:

  • the first new mounting of the Malas manufactured by us is free of charge (excluded are knotted Malas, as well as Malas unprocessed and imported by us from Asia)
  • There are only material and shipping costs
  • for each further winding please ask for the price
  • we reserve the right to refuse a tuning order for malas that were not purchased from us. For a concrete offer we need a photo of the Mala
  • please do not send Malas without prior arrangement
  • If you send Malas then to the following address: Malaworkshop - Nic. Pscheidt, Schopenhauerstr. 9, 85579 Neubiberg near Munich

Warranty/exchange:

  • Of course there is also a guarantee on our Malas.
  • But we ask you to consider that Malas are also articles of daily use.
Comparable to car tyres. After many kilometres of driving, the tread wears out and new tyres are fitted. If the cord has widened, the Mala should be replaced before it tears.
  • If you have any problems with your mala, please contact us!
  • If pearls are lost: we have replacement pearls for most of our unique pieces!
  • Hopefully it goes without saying that used/worn Malas are excluded from exchange. Every customer can be 100% sure that his purchased Mala has never been used!

In the shop:

  • Ideally you use the different categories, such as semi-precious stone, sandalwood, rosewood etc.
  • A practical decision support is the "Add to watchlist" function.
  • If you have questions about a product, please use the button "Question about product". With more than 2.000 articles we often can't do anything with them, e.g. sandalwood for 25,-€

Shop in general:

  • It is very convenient if you register in the shop. So you can always check the current order status, follow the delivery status and above all create a watch list. Access to the account is possible at any time.
  • The payment is due immediately after purchase. If you want to reserve items, please discuss this with us. It doesn't make sense for us if orders are placed and no payment is received for weeks, or maybe even cancelled after weeks.
  • Please do not order Malas for inspection without having discussed this with us beforehand.
